About Colette Moscrop
Linen and cotton hand screen printed artisan textiles, inspired by vintage styles and urban living.
Simple designs in rich colours make up my textile collection, which is perfect for use in embroidery, slow stitching, quilting and craft projects. Add your own touch to the fabrics by adding some simple stitches to add texture and interest. The meditative process of hand stitching is something I enjoy enormously, each slow stitch can soothe away the day's tensions, calm the mind and restore balance.
All fabrics are designed and hand screen printed onto beautifully tactile linens and cotton in my London studio. I use eco-friendly water based inks for printing and work hard to keep my environmental impact as low as possible.
I'm inspired by architecture, styles from the 30s - 50s and urban living. These influences find their way into my sketchbook, where I work with pencil and ink. When working on a new design I play with scale and repeats before committing the final design onto a screen for me to print with.
I love living in London and never tire of the ever changing city. The culture, entertainment and array of nature is inspiring, whatever you're looking for is out there waiting to be discovered. I love to explore the city with my two girls and husband and can be found scouring vintage markets and seeking out interesting buildings.
